Hockney's iPhone and iPad exhibition

At the YSL foundation a mind blowing exhibition of Hockney's creations on iphones and ipads. Must have collaborated with Apple since everything was displayed on one or the other, lines and arrays of them; some fixed, some changing, and the best of all, some playing the actual realization of the drawing as if being made in front of you. Those were the iPad, which has a feature to "play back" the image.

From Yosemite to flowers to window views and portraits, Hockney globs on pixels and you'd swear it was thick paint. With contrasts between thick, soft fuzzy edges and fine lines, he creates immense depth. But most captivating was literally seeing his thinking as paintings come to life just as he created them, color choices also making space. Makes me want an ipad just for that, though surely, the next version of Brushes for the iphone will have such a feature.

Mireille and I saw fit to record his show on our iphones and draw our own crowd.
