Jim and I drew their plans for days.
Before we measured the twists and curves,
they emptied the rooms of cat bones 
and human hands
varying arrangements of parts and whole.

My sweet cottage is gradually being equipped for drawing but its context, the undulating folds of Anderson Valley, lures one from the task at hand. Or maybe it's the fierce loyalty of my friend, procrastination, or that piece of plywood I need to span the borrowed saw horses. Long expanses of horizontal fuel visual flow, production. Then there are the windows. Bring on the deadlines.
